Polystichum proliferum

A tufted fern that sometimes for a short trunk with long arching fronds that grows up to one and half metres tall. Young fronds are bright green and erect whilst the older fronds are a dull green, arching and often bear bulbils near the tips. This fern will grow in semi shade and dappled shade and requires moist soils, however once established it can tolerate dry periods and is an easy to grow fern for ferneries.
